A native of South Carolina, Irby E. Walker, Jr. graduated from the Baptist College at Charleston with a B.A. degree in 1972, received his Juris Doctor from the University of Carolina in 1976 and an LL.M. in Taxation from George Washington University in 1980.
He was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 1976 and to the U.S. District Court, District of South Carolina and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Fourth Circuit in 1977. Mr. Walker established his private practice in 1980 and has remained in South Carolina throughout his legal career. He has worked extensively as a trial lawyer, which includes experience on both sides of the aisle, as a Public Defender and for the prosecution as Assistant Solicitor. Well regarded by the legal community, he has represented a number of lawyers in matters involving professional responsibility.
Mr. Walker is known for a high degree of professionalism that has been acquired through decades of experience.
